Le nom de ce projet : SARTRE pour Safe Road Trains for the Environment pr\u00e9voit d’accrocher virtuellement sa voiture, comme un wagon, \u00e0 un camion.<\/p>\n
On imagine par exemple une voiture monter sur l’autoroute \u00e0 hauteur de la sortie 19 dialoguant avec un camion dont la destination est au identique (ou dans la m\u00eame direction).<\/p>\n
Il ne reste plus qu’au v\u00e9hicule \u00e0 suivre le camion et \u00e0 se d\u00e9crocher lorsqu’il approche de sa destination par exemple avant une sortie d’autoroute.<\/p>\n

Les premiers tests r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par Volvo au d\u00e9but 2009 et qui devraient se poursuivre jusqu’\u00e0 l’horizon 2012 ont pour la premi\u00e8re fois quitt\u00e9 l’\u00e9tude virtuelle pour se poursuivre sur route avec succ\u00e8s semble-t-il.<\/p>\n
L’id\u00e9e derri\u00e8re est d’une part d’augmenter la fluidit\u00e9 du trafic un peu \u00e0 l’image de nos blocs routiers les W-E d’affluence vers la mer et d’autre part d’augmenter la s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n
Encore que pour ce dernier point on reste tributaire d’un seul et unique chauffeur celui du poids lourd.<\/p>\n
Ce projet rencontre aussi un autre avantage celui de r\u00e9duire les consommations (vitesse constante et r\u00e9duite) et donc a fortiori les \u00e9missions de CO2 ; sur ce point on parle d’une r\u00e9duction pouvant aller jusqu’\u00e0 20%.<\/p>\n
Enfin le conducteur du v\u00e9hicule ainsi d\u00e9charg\u00e9 de la conduite pourrait s’adonner \u00e0 d’autres t\u00e2ches comme la lecture, le t\u00e9l\u00e9phone ou encore la r\u00e9daction d’un blog …<\/p>\n
Pour le moment ce projet se cantonne \u00e0 des petits trains ainsi qu’\u00e0 des espaces entre v\u00e9hicule de t\u00eate et suiveur d’au moins 10m.<\/p>\n

A terme cette distance sera r\u00e9duite et les vitesses pourraient \u00eatre revues \u00e0 la hausse ce qui entre nous n’est pas n\u00e9cessairement une bonne nouvelle.<\/p>\n
