C’est vrai que dans le passé, on envisageait peut-être pas politiquement des horizons aussi lointains. Mais à l’inverse, nos ancêtres n’en avaient pas vraiment besoin car ils avaient des pratiques plus durables, issues de traditions pleines de bon sens et de sagesse. Notre générations ayant énormément perdu de lien avec la nature, ses cycles et son tempo, c’est aux chiffres du domaine technico-scientifique qu’on a recours pour essayer de s’inscrire dans le durable. Étant de cette génération, ça ne me choque pas plus que ça, mais pourtant, à y réfléchir, c’est complètement fou!

Par contre, un contrôle régulier serait effectivement une bonne chose.

Personnellement, je suis assez pessimiste quant à l’avenir qui se dessine mais je reste néanmoins positif et garde l’espoir qu’on assiste encore à un réveil de tous dans un délai raisonnable. C’est ce qui me fait dire qu’il faut effectivement continuer à se battre. Si on doit en venir un jour à voir toutes nos civilisations chuter et notre espèce passer à un autre age, on aura tout perdu. Toutes ces connaissances, le travail de tant de générations, tant de combats pour rien… Ce serait lamentable!

Pour revenir au sujet de l’article, je pense que c’est une bonne chose d’afficher de la bonne volonté mais que ça n’a rien de contraignant. Facile pour un politique, un gouvernement, une entreprise ou un secteur économique de s’engager pour l’horizon 2050. Les responsables d’aujourd’hui ne le seront plus demain, c’est refiler la patate chaude au suivante. C’est aussi ce que j’appellerai de la procrastination climatique. Il faudrait définir un maximum d’étapes intermédiaires avec les objectifs correspondant et les moyens qui seront mis en place pour y parvenir. Et parallèlement, mettre en place une institution qui serait chargé de réévaluer en permanence la situation et les efforts qui s’imposent. Yves Cochet parlait d’une OME (Organisation Mondiale de l’Environnement) qui aurait un pouvoir et une influence équivalents à l’OMS ou l’OMC. Je crois que ce serait un bon début!

Et pour ce qui est du report des émissions de pays Occidentaux vers les pays émergents, je crois que le problème est encore plus complexe que tel qu’il est posé. Tout est tellement lié, j’avoue que ça me dépasse…
